2016 Fun Theme Video from NHD-MN

Dear NHD-CA Coordinators,

NHD Minnesota put out a nice video on this year's theme.  I am forwarding it on to you in case you want to pass it on to teachers in your area.  It is fun but also educational.  Unfortunately, our video making NHD-CA bear is still in hibernation - although we are hoping to awaken him soon.  Until then check this out.

P.S. Also from NHD-MN is a video about Primary vs. Secondary Sources that you may find useful.

New & Improved NHD Exhibit Boards NOW Available

Dear NHD-CA Coordinators,

Please share this e-mail with teachers in your area.

NHD-CA and a couple other states have been working with a vendor to supply good quality exhibit boards for schools or students to purchase.

A page was created on our NHD-CA website to provide more information and includes a link to the vendor's (Box Man, Inc.) web page.  Students, teachers, or coordinators can order directly from the vendor using Paypal.  http://www.nhdca.org/#!products/c92a

The boards are reasonably priced considering their size and quality.  Some advantages to these boards include:

Not too big, and not too small
The board was designed to be 4' tall with an optional 12" header board (60" total height). This gives the projects substance, but still be a size that wasn't overwhelming for students to organize.

Proportional side panels
The biggest problem with the science fair boards, or other boards, is that they are designed with side panels that fold into the center. These narrow panels inhibit the balance of the exhibit's design. This board has wider side panels that open up to a comfortable width for viewing.

Sturdy construction
The boards are made out of double-wall cardboard that holds up extremely well -- even if they are re-used in future projects.

Choice of colors
The boards were first sold only in white, but there was a big demand for black. Now they are available in both colors -- but many students choose to cover the boards with poster paper or cloth.

In addition to all of these benefits - for every board sold, NHD-CA will receive $1 to support the state program.  We hope these boards help your students create good quality NHD projects.
