ABMC Education Update Together with the American Battle Monuments Commission and the Department of Veterans Affairs, we have created a resource for teaching about America's military history. The site, ABMCeducation.org, was recently updated with a new look and dozens of free lesson plans created by extraordinary teachers! Who They Were This year marks the 100th anniversary of the armistice of World War I. To honor this occasion we are working with the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission to help students and teachers discover what their communities were like 100 years ago. Learn more and participate in the commemorations at nhd.org/whotheywere. Participate today! A tale of twins reunited Vanessa Taylor participated in one of our educational programs in high school. Her research on twins from her hometown of Ainsworth, Nebraska, helped reunite the two 74 years after they died. The twins were both involved in the D-Day landings at Normandy and both made the ultimate sacrifice. They were originally buried in separate cemeteries because only one could be identified.
